Outline of the Exhibition

Tohl Narita (1929 - 2002) studies sculpture at Musashino Art School but his participation in the filming location of the movie, “Godzilla,” embarked him to step into the world of special effects. While he was active as a sculptor, he designed aliens and monsters that appeared in the TV programs - “Ultra Q”, “Ultraman” and “Ultraseven”. He continued to produce various characters and he became an essential person in the field of special effects. At this exhibition, his original works designed for special effects characters as well as unreleased sketches, paintings and sculptures that are not so well-known will be introduced. We will present the unique creations of the artist Tohl Narita in its entirety.
